Sabre Travel Network is a global business-to-business travel marketplace that consists primarily of a global distribution system or GDS, which is the backbone to all travel reservations, and a broad set of solutions that integrate with the GDS.
This marketplace is used by travel suppliers including approximately 400 airlines, 175,000 hotel properties, 200 tour operators, 50 rail carriers, 36 car rental outlets and 16 cruise lines to promote, personalize and sell their products to travel management companies, corporate travel departments and approximately 425,000 travel agents, around the word. The marketplace includes a mobile-enabled platform for travel buyers to shop, price, book and pay for travel.
That description, in itself, is quite a mouthful. Sabre wanted a simplified way to depict the nature of their travel marketplace – something that could stand on it’s own, or serve as a backdrop for further explanation and detail by a sales representative.
We created an animated information graphic for PowerPoint presentations that could be used in a sales conversation or sent to a prospect via email. The isometric graphic literally depicts the “technology platform” as a structural platform that connects people and travel data. Layers highlight with annotations for each audience group individually so the conversation can be easily focused for the current prospect. Annotations include brief text highlighting audience needs and the benefits the platform provides to serve those needs. The tool proved to be a powerful door opener and memorable visual reference to support the next-level sales dialog.
